community and family: meeting the needs of the Asian American Elderly in the Bay Area

7-10pm
Locus at 1640 Post, San Francisco

They are our grandparents and our neighbors. We probably see the APA elderly every week, but have few opportunities to understand their daily struggles.

The news media has certainly examined issues like prescription drugs, senior housing, and social security, but coverage of elderly APAs and their attempts to secure adequate food, health care, and housing is limited.

This month’s Third Thursdays explores the APA elderly community, what are their needs and how do community-based organizations, families, and volunteers care for their well-being.

Panelists include:

  • Jennie Chin Hansen, R.N., M.S.
Executive Director, On Lok Senior Health
  • Sandy Mori
    Development Director, Kimochi Inc.
