For people who care about the environment, issues such as global climate change, habitat loss, and environmental pollution loom large. Even if you weren’t aware of these issues, they also impact many Asian Americans living in the Bay Area, either at their workplace or in their home.
This month’s Third Thursdays examines the work and perspectives of API folks who are active in the environmental movements, from environmental justice to promoting sustainability around the world. Come join us as we discuss with veteran environmentalists how they started their involvement and how APIs play an active role in environmental movements from communities ranging from the local to the global.
Panelists include:
-
Lisa De Castro
Asian Pacific Environmental Network
-
Ritu Primlani

Couple of links about The Waribashi Project, an environmental art collaborative between Berkeley artist Donna Keiko Ozawa and the Japanese Community and Cultural Center of Northern California (JCCCNC). It examines the disposable chopstick (waribashi).
