Critical Health Issues in API Communities

7-9:30pm
Japanese Cultural & Community Center of Northern California
1840 Sutter
San Francisco

In this Third Thursdays Discussion we will explore the critical health issues that are facing our community. The concerns of our community’s health were brought to light during the Campaign Against Prop 54. Through the Prop 54 campaign, we learned that the API community had a number of health issues that needed to be tracked and monitored. But that we only scratched the surface.

As our community diversifies and evolves here in the U.S., so will our health; both mental and physical. Through research and data collection we now know that Hepatitas B is a common disease that affects APIs. But Hepatitas B is only one of many health concerns that our community should be aware of. Our panel will bring up and discuss health issues that are facing our community and how we as a community can address them.

Panelists include:

  • Yvonne Y. Lee
    Public Affairs Consultant
  • Karen Rezai
Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO)
